Since 2013, Ill-Studio has used Instagram as a field of experimentation letting spontaneous ideas prevail over bigger commissioned projects.
The following gallery is a selection of images made over the last 5 years.
Ill-Studio was given carte blanche by Danish brand Wood Wood to create images and videos for their Fall 2019 campaign. The resulting project was a series of photographs from various popular sports TV channels, creating abstract images about the idea of speed, movement and Ill-Studio’s fascination for popular culture in motion.
Twisted Objects is an ode to popular culture in which obsolete generic ephemera are warped and distorted, reflecting an obsessive perception of mundane objects. Shot without CJI effects, Twisted Objects was exhibited in several cities such as Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Vienna. A special shortened edit was released in 2014 in collaboration with Nowness.
The goal of this book was to present part of the "raw inspiration material" used by Ill-Studio team between 2007 and 2010 for creative purposes.
This material covers all kinds of fields and moments such as art, fashion, music, architecture, literature, geography, science, and popular culture regardless of its origin, importance or meaning. Each reference was archived in visual form as a catalogue of not-so-general knowledge that is key to Ill-Studio’s creative process, whether in a central manner or as an Ariadne's thread leading to yet another idea.
